Creamy Cozy Oatmeal (GF, V)

Ingredients:
½ cup rolled oats
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy like oat, almond, soy)
½ cup water
1 tbsp nut butter (peanut, almond, etc.)
½ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1 small ripe banana, mashed –or– ½ cup fresh or frozen berries
Optional: 1–2 tsp maple syrup or honey, to taste
Instructions:
Combine oats and liquids:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the oats, milk, water, cinnamon, and salt.Add your fruit:
Stir in either the mashed banana or the berries (no need to thaw if frozen).Simmer:
Cook for 5–10 minutes, stirring often, until the oats are creamy and the fruit is blended in.Finish with nut butter:
Stir in the nut butter for a rich, creamy texture.Sweeten if needed:
Taste and add a little maple syrup or honey if you like it sweeter.Serve warm:
Top with a splash of milk, extra fruit, or a sprinkle of nuts if desired.
